  • This is the summary talk on the Fifth International Symposium on capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Related Topics. The lectures of this conference have centered around new high resolution experimental techniques of studying nucleon gamma transition rates, energy levels, and structure, symmetry in the IBM, statistical aspects and models of highly excited nuclei (via radiative neutron capture), and excitation of electromagnetic giant resonances. (AIP)
  • These are the concluding remarks made by K.W. Ehlers at the fourth international symposium on production and neutralization of negative ions and beams held at Brookhaven National Laboratory in 1986. (AIP)
  • At this meeting, we had many interesting talks. The topics include: the basic phenomena in sources on surface production; volume production sources and basic phenomena; temporal filter concept; the effect of filament number, position and material; the effect of introducing cesium; diagnostics; extraction and acceleration of beams; modeling; volume scaling laws; neutralizers; negative ion sources being used on new accelerators, etc. (AIP)
