Determination of the parameters of thermoelectric systems

A method of determining the figure of merit of thermoelectric devices and systems (both generative and cooling systems) from the load characteristics under variable heat flux, which does not involve the use of thermocouples, is described. Expressions are derived for calculating Z and ..delta..T, and the results of testing a thermoelectric cooling module for two thermal states are given. The advantage of the method is its simplicity and rapidity.
