Determination of hydrogen sulfide (H/sub 2/S) in environment by indirect atomic absorption spectroscopy

The results of an investigation on the feasibility of determining H/sub 2/S in atmosphere as well as sulfides by an indirect atomic absorption spectroscopy method are reported. The method uses a known amount of buffered Pb(CH/sub 3/COO)/sub 2/ solution added to the test sample and measures the excess reagent using atomic absorption spectroscopy. The method appears to be accurate and precise down to an equivalent of 0.082 ..mu..g H/sub 2/S. (ND)
