The issues surrounding the role of nuclear energy are discussed as part of the ERDA funding for 1978. Among the major issues discussed are: (1) the reprocessing and recycle of plutonium; (2) the breeder reactor program; (3) the management of nuclear waste; (4) the expansion of uranium enrichment capacity; (5) the export of nuclear technology and materials; and (6) the available uranium and fossil fuels.
