Title: Critical pair-breaking currents of thin superconducting films in a perpendicular magnetic field

Abstract

It is observed that the critical current of thin superconducting In and Pb films in perpendicular fields close to H/subc//sub 2/ is determined by the mechanism of Cooper-pair breaking. The critical current and its field dependence are well described within the framework of a simple phenomenological energy model. (AIP)
