The data are presented as pci/filter for air; pci/gram for soil, vegetation, and other tissues; and pci/milliliter for water. This study was designed to investigate the comparative accumulation of radionuclides from contaminated water in artificial ecosystems before and after the water's passage through the ground. Fish, clams, algae, and an emergent vascular plant were experimentally exposed to mixtures of radionuclides in three aqueous streams. Two streams consisted of industrial water discharged directly into a leaching trench, and the same water after it had migrated through the ground for a distance of 260 meters. Radiochemically measured relative fission yields have been compiled for targets of /sup 232/Th, /sup 235/U, /sup 236/U, /sup 237/Np, /sup 238/U, and /sup 239/Pu that were irradiated with neutrons, the average energies of which were in the 0.0253-eV to 14-MeV range. The yields were examined for consistency by means of the two-mode-of-fission hypothesis. The circumstances associated with inconsistencies were investigated, but the yields in questions were rejected only when good cause was found. Finally, the relative fission yields were converted to absolute values. Calculating fission product inventories in Peach Bottom FTE-4 fuel rods using the ORIGEN code

Nondestructive gamma-ray analyses (NDA) for fission products and mass-spectrometric analyses for five uranium isotopes in two samples of fuel removed from the Peach Bottom reactor have been compared with corresponding quantities calculated from reactor operating data using the ORIGEN code to form the basis for material balance calculations in head-end reprocessing steps. Satisfactory agreement between ORIGEN results and measured uranium isotopic distributions as found with the standard ORIGEN inputs.
