MINTOM: Minnesota tradeoff model; energy/economy/environment. [Model 2, Input-Output/Linear Programming/Simulation model]
This report presents the first results of Model 2, Input-Output/linear Programming/Simulation model for Minnesota, being developed by the Research Division of the Minnesota Energy Agency. The objectives of this report are: (1) to show the relative importance of various industries in Minnesota with respect to income, employment, and gross state product contributions; (2) to describe the interrelationships among producing-consuming groups in the economy through a representation of the transaction pattern among these groups; (3) to demonstrate a method for measuring changes in the levels of total output, employment, fuel use, and pollution associated with a given change in exports and other components of final demand, as well as location or disappearance of specific activities in the state; and (4) to introduce an optimum allocation strategy for fuel supplies.
