This paper discusses solid catalysts used in fluid-fluid reactions deactivated by deposition of coke when they encounter the organic compounds present. These catalysts can be regenerated by combustion with diluted air. A modified grain-model was used to study the influence of the rate of flow of gas and the concentration in oxygen on the temperature and carbon profiles which were obtained during the regeneration of deactivated beds. The best conditions for the regeneration are an oxygen concentration of 15% and a rate of flow of gas of 1.25 {center dot} 10{sup {minus}4} m{sup 3}/s.
