An investigation of power system operating functions was done to determine which ones can benefit form the graphic facilities that are being developed for Unix based workstations that support X-Windows and PHIGS. The functions selected were: System Restoration, Voltage Profile Display, and Alarm Location and Density Display. The development of a detailed System Map was needed to support these functions. Software was developed (using PHIGS and C languages) to generate and display graphics to support the dispatchers performance of these functions. In this paper, demonstration is included for evaluation purposes.
