Title: Chelated iron catalyzed conversion of gaseous sulfur compounds - What to expect in the 1990's

Conference ·
OSTI ID:7173883

Chelated iron catalyzed oxidation of H/sub 2/S to elemental sulfur has emerged in the 1980s as the method of choice for the treatment of refinery fuel gas, wellhead gas and amine acid gas in many cases, particularly for small units and variable loads. Continued development work should provide a new generation of chelated iron scrubbing technology for the 1990s. The present state of the art in chelated iron catalyzed oxidation of hydrogen sulfide processes is described and the basis for development work is discussed.
