A mathematical model of the structure of porous adsorbents and catalysts, which is is based on a systematic analysis and permits the description of the variation of the pore volume of a catalyst over a broad range of variation of the pore radius, has been proposed. The results of the calculation of the textural characteristics of spherical ..gamma..-aluminum oxide, which is a support for reforming catalysts, have been presented, and ways to use the proposed model for solving problems in the synthesis of catalysts and the optimization of processes have been presented.
