The objective of this contract is the preparation of a conceptual design package for a commercial facility to produce liquid synthetic fuels by an advanced coal liquefaction scheme. The liquefaction process is of the hydrogen donor solvent type (CSF Process). This is the first quarterly progress report under this contract. Results presented must be considered preliminary in many areas. As work continues and new information is developed, changes will necessarily have to be made. Work to date has been concentrated on Task 1010, the development of a plant configuration, with a minor expenditure of effort on Tasks 2030 and 2040, mine and plant site and environmental, respectively.
