The papers contained in this volume provide an overview of recent developments in rapid solidification technology. Topics discussed include solidification of supercooled intermetallic powders, rapid solidification of highly undercooled liquids, modifying the properties of rapidly solidified alloys by the consolidation parameters, and rapidly solidified aluminum alloys for advanced engineering applications. Papers are also presented on the mechanical and transformation properties of rapidly solidified Ti-Ni intermetallics, titanium alloy melt spinning, rapidly solidified magnesium alloys for high-performance applications, and the tensile properties of extrusion consolidated Type 304 SS rapidly solidified powders.
