Title: Structure of the neutral sheet in the distant tail (x=-210 R{sub e}) in geomagnetically quiet times

Abstract

Here the authors examine the properties of the neutral sheet in a case when it is geomagnetically quiet. They look at electric and magnetic field data, when Kp is 0 or 1. In general the y component of B is strongly dependent upon the IMF B{sub y}, and is in an averaged since larger than B{sub z}. B{sub z} is typically of the order of 0.1 nT. Drift velocities are typically 100`s of km/s tailward.
