A system is described for enhancing switch reliability comprising: first and second switches, each having open and closed output states; memory means operatively connected to first and second switches for storing the last common output state simultaneously held by both the switches; and logic means responsive to the memory means and the first and second switches for generating a first system output when both the switches are closed or when one of the switches closes when the last common output was open. A second system output is generated when both the switches are open or when one of the switches opens when the last common output was closed.
