Title: Nuclear materials safeguards. (Latest citations from the INSPEC database). Published Search

Abstract

The bibliography contains citations concerning the protective measures taken to safeguard nuclear materials during processing, use at utility operations, storage, and disposal. Emphasis is on accounting and verifying the inventory at each step in the process. Included are techniques and equipment used to measure and weigh quantities for verification purposes. Both international and national safeguards are covered. (Contains a minimum of 99 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)

  • The bibliography contains citations concerning assessment, reliability, failure analysis, and safety of nuclear power plant components and systems using fault tree analysis methods. Faults caused by components, human error, environmental considerations, and common mode failures are presented. Various systems and components are analyzed, including high pressure safety injection, auxiliary feedwater, control instrumentation, emergency core flooding and cooling, and steam generator tubing. (Contains a minimum of 66 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)

Faults caused by components, human error, environmental considerations, and common mode failures are presented. Various systems and components are analyzed, including high pressure safety injection, auxiliary feedwater, control instrumentation, emergency core flooding and cooling, and steam generator tubing. (Contains a minimum of 76 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
  • The bibliography contains citations concerning a nuclear fusion process which occurs at lower temperatures and pressures than conventional fusion reactions. The references describe theoretical and experimental results for a proposed muon-catalyzed fusion reactor, and for studies on muon sticking and reactivation. The temperature dependence of fusion rates, and resolution of some engineering challenges are also discussed. (Contains 250 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
