Title: Thiopyridine-n-oxides, thiopyridines, and thiopyrimidines as urease inhibitors

Abstract

This patent describes a method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, the enzymatic decomposition of the urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon. It is comprised of exposing the enzyme to relatively small, predetermined amounts of a compound.
