Following the development, by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC) Solar Collector and System Testing Group, of test procedures for the long-term evaluation of solar systems, a series of tests were carried out in order to evaluate a number of solar systems. The systems, manufactured in Greece, were typical of a large range of similar products. In Greece solar energy has a great potential in meeting a large proportion of the energy demands in domestic hot water. The introduction of test procedures is expected to alleviate the industry from inferior products and to establish a trust between industry and the consumer. 15 refs., 5 figs., 4 tabs.
