Energy in Venezuela: keeping pace with dynamic changes

Venezuela is one of the world's oldest and largest oil exporting countries. The oil industry has accumulative production to crude approaching 40 billion barrels and close to 40,000 wells drilled to date. Proved reserves are 56 billion barrels, while total oil reserves recoverable under present economic conditions are estimated at close to 200 billion barrels, including a significant portion of those from the Orinoco Belt. This resource base assures Venezuela's long-term role as an oil exporter.
