Title: Optical fiber probe using tunable laser absorption spectroscopy for combustion measurements

Conference · · Proc. Soc. Photo-Opt. Instrum. Eng.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6797759

Tunable laser absorption spectroscopy is used in conjunction with an optical fiber probe configuration for the remote measurement of minor chemical species in combustion environments. The sodium atom concentration field in a laboratory combustor was studied in order to characterize probe effects and demonstrate the spatial resolutions achievable. The spectrally-resolved absorption line shapes are used to infer sodium concentrations.
