It has been established that in a homogeneous dielectric with limited injection, as in the case of a ''virtual cathode'' where the charge density is infinitely high, the current increases to a maximum at time t/sup -/, then decreases, followed by an insignificant increase to the steady state value. However, for the case of limited injection considered here, the current reaches its maximum value at later times than in the case of unlimited injection. The proposed calculation method allows analysis of transient processes in an inhomogeneous dielectric for any distribution of charge mobility over coordinate.
