Muon-spin-rotation measurement of magnetic field penetration and flux pinning in superconducting EuBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub x/

Muon-spin-rotation measurements have been used to determine the magnetic field penetration depth lambda as a function of temperature T in superconducting, sintered EuBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub x/(xapprox. =7). The extrapolated value at 0 K, lambda(0), is 1700 A. The temperature dependence of lambda(T) in the interval 3.5 K to T/sub c/ is well described by the phenomenological relation lambda(T) = lambda(0)(1-(T/T/sub c/)/sup 4/)/sup -1/2/. For T
