This field-oriented program emphasizes the use of research opportunities on the Savannah Rive Site while at the same time focusing on data information needs of the Department of Energy. Laboratory and special purpose facilities enhance this field-oriented approach. SREL has been gathering baseline information on the long-term aspects of the SRS environment since operations began in 1951. Research programs integrated with Westinghouse's environmental monitoring support the mission of the site and help maintain environmental quality at the SRS. Research in the various program components is summarized in this report.
