Use of a process model for FCCU monitoring

The authors are currently completing a program to apply the Profimatics FCC model for unit monitoring at their four other refineries in Canada. This effort has proceeded quite rapidly and efficiently, in part due to the in-house expertise they acquired during the initial project. The final step in our implementation strategy has been initiated. They are starting to move the model over to our on-line process control computers. This will allow them to use the optimization capability of the package to improve unit profit.
