Title: Solar energy system

Abstract

This patent describes a solar energy system, which includes a lower solar energy collector. It comprises: an outer cabinet including a top, bottom, a front, a back and opposite sides; the outer cabinet including an opening; the outer cabinet forming an enclosed interior; an inner cabinet including a top, a bottom, a front, a back and opposite sides; the inner cabinet including an opening; the inner cabinet forming an inner cabinet interior; inner cabinet mounting means mounting the inner cabinet in spaced relation from the outer cabinet within the outer cabinet interior whereby an interstitial space is formed between the inner and outer cabinets; an inlet fluid conduit extending through the outer cabinet and fluidically communicating with the inner cabinet interior; a fluid outlet conduit extending through the outer cabinet and fluidically communicating with the inner cabinet interior; and transparent panel means adapted to cover the cabinet openings. It also comprises an upper collector including: a housing with a top, a bottom, a front, a back and opposite sides; the housing having an opening and a transparent panel covering the opening; the housing forming an enclosed interior; a fluid vessel positioned within the interior in proximity to the opening; vesselmore » mounting means mounting the vessel within the housing interior in proximity to the housing opening; a fluid inlet conduit extending through the housing and fluidically communicating with the vessel; a fluid outlet conduit extending through the housing and fluidically communicating wit the vessel; and thermal energy storage means positioned within the housing interior; and interconnector fluid conduit means fluidically communicating the inner cabinet interior with the housing interior.« less
