The economic feasibility of interfacing a solar prototype system with the privately owned utility at Hobbs, New Mexico, is explored. Geothermal and wind energy were eliminated from consideration. The following were discussed: technical efficiency of solar systems, thermal only system, recommended options with and without storage, and solar system rankings with various fuel cost inflation rates.
