Title: Pumping system for oil production

Abstract

A pumping system for oil production comprises a hydraulic unit set on the ground and adapted to send out a pressure oil, and a pump unit set in an oil well and adapted to draw up crude oil therefrom. The pump unit comprises a pump cylinder, and a plunger reciprocatingly moved in the pump cylinder. The plunger is provided with a clearance formed between the outer circumferential surface of a lower end portion thereof and the inner circumferential surface of the pump cylinder. The pressure oil supplied from the hydraulic unit is ejected from the clearance along the inner surface of the pump cylinder into a cylinder chamber.

  • A self-pumping solar heating system having a collector including a multitude of small diameter riser tubes from which heated liquid is pumped into a header by a geyser action. A vapor condenser assures a header pressure conducive to bubble nucleation in the riser tube upper end segments. The level of liquid within the header or its outlet is higher than the liquid level in the riser tubes to produce a gravity imbalance capable of circulating heated liquid past a storage heat exchanger, below the header, and then upwardly through the closed vapor condenser in the header prior to return tomore » a collector inlet manifold. A modified header utilizes an open vapor condenser in vapor communication with the collector header.« less
  • Because of the advantages of flowing a well, it has been proposed to produce wells by employing a gas-lift system. It is a principal object of this method to provide a new and improved process for producing oil utilizing a gas-lift technique. Simultaneous production of oil from a pumping well and a flowing well is accomplished wherein gas which is produced in the pumping well is conveyed to and utilized to facilitate production of oil from the flowing well. Flow from the flowing well may be initiated by pumping a light oil into the annulus. The method may be utilizedmore » with wells produced by fire flooding. (1 claim)« less
  • High pressure product fluid from a petroleum well goes into a high pressure separation vessel where preliminary phase separation of the constituents takes place. Oil and gas leave the preliminary separator by a flow line. Power fluid for a triplex pump flows from the high pressure separator into a separator tank that opens to atmosphere. Here, further separation of the phases takes place and power fluid low in abrasive solid content is taken off by a charging pump and fed to the triplex pump. The triplex pump increases the head of the power fluid and introduces it to the well.more » The power fluid may be either water or oil.« less
  • A system is provided for pumping high pressure power liquid for a downhole hydraulic pump for producing fluids from an oil well. The power liquid is mixed in the well with the produced well fluid and is conveyed to a phase separation vessel at the surface where gas, oil and water are gravity separated. Power liquid is withdrawn from this vessel to the inlet of a combined pitot pump and centrifugal cleaner. This combined pump and cleaner has a stationary housing and a rotatable cleaning chamber. A stationary pitot tube in the rotatable housing provides pressurized clean power liquid formore » the suction inlet of a high pressure multiplex piston pump that feeds power liquid to the downhole pump. The rotating chamber has passages at its periphery for discharging dirty liquid which drains from the housing and is pumped to a production flow line. Fluids from the phase separation vessel are also recovered through the production flow line. Also, means are provided for interrupting pumping in case of excessive or deficient flow of dirty liquid from the cleaner. Preferably the dirty liquid is pumped to the production flow line by a jet pump powered either by pressurized power liquid from the pitot tube outlet in a high pressure embodiment or by power liquid from the high pressure piston pump in a lower pressure embodiment.« less
