This paper reports the effects of third-order dispersion on the propagation of an optical soliton in an optical fiber. The effects are the following: (i) the squeezing is non-uniform over the pulse, (2) a critical value of {beta}{sub 3}, viz., the third-order dispersion, governs the optimum range of squeezing as the soliton propagates along the fiber.
