Pneumatic actuators often best choice with DDC

It is a misconception that direct digital control (DDC) will eliminate all pneumatic controls. The DDC system provides better control over temperature setpoints, but pneumatic actuators that regulate dampers and valves will continue providing low-cost, accurate service. Pneumatic actuators are familiar to service personnel, and can withstand more-severe environmental conditions than electronic equipment. (DCK)
