Low-temperature performance comparisons of parabolic-trough and flat-plate collectors based on typical meteorological year data

Performance calculations have been made to compare the performance of orientations of parabolic-trough collectors with those of single-cover flat-plate collectors. Typical meteorological year weather inputs were used. Results indicate performance advantages of the horizontal north-south-axis parabolic-trough collectors over most areas of the United States.
