Title: Estimate of the exposure from specks of insoluble radioactive material that may become lodged in the lungs

Abstract

Particles of UO/sub 2/ discovered in the environment of Oak Ridge National Laboratory were identified as originating from ruptured fuel slugs in the X-10 reactor. Possible exposures to these particles and estimates of the radiation hazard due to them were discussed. (ACR)
