Battery charger having temperature compensated charge rate
This patent describes an apparatus for charging a battery comprising: a switching type voltage regulator having a current sense output. The regulator is connected in a series circuit between a power source and a first terminal of the battery. The regulator receives unregulated dc power from the power source and delivers regulated power to the first terminal of the battery. A controller for the regulator operatively connects to provide switching signals to the regulator. The controller has a voltage adjust circuit and a current limit circuit, and has a first external voltage input and a first reference voltage input associated with the current limit circuit, and has a second external voltage input and a second reference voltage input associated with the voltage adjust circuit.
