The phenomenon of regular drift of subpulses with a drift period P/sub d/ = 8.5P and with an interval between subpulses S/sub d/ = 31.7 msec was discovered from observations of the long-period pulsar PSR 0320+39 (P = 3.032 sec) at 102.5 MHz. In contrast to other known regularly drifting pulsars, the subpulses of PSR 0320+39 drift in the opposite to usual direction, from the leading edge of the radio-emission window to its trailing front. The discovery of the drift of PSR 0320+39 in the ''anomalous'' direction may serve as experimental confirmation that the direction of drift of subpulses is determined by a geometrical factor, i.e., by the mutual orientation of the line of sight and the emission cone of the pulsar, and it is a strong argument in favor of the model of drift as the differential rotation of regions of radio emission around the magnetic belt of the neutron star.
