Soft and hard energy paths: what people on the streets think
Opinions, attitudes, values, and behavior of the mass public concerning different energy technologies are discussed. Characteristics of hard and soft energy paths, relevant attitudes and values, and distinctive viewpoints towards energy technologies and the solar census are discussed. Attitudes toward nuclear energy, coal, solar energy, and conservation are specifically discussed. Attitudes toward big bureaucracies, employment, war and terrorism, migration, and the changing structure of American social and cultural values are also discussed. (MCW)
