Title: Development and application of a unique method for monitoring acidic emissions from oil-fired boilers. Paper 81. 7. 7

Abstract

Results of attempts to develop a sampling technique to quantify acidic emissions from oil-fired boilers are presented. Magnesium oxide additive was used to neutralize the acidic emissions. Tests were conducted to find out the optimal quantities of additives for a given fuel oil sulfur content. A sampling system was designed which gave reproducible results so that appropriate steps could be applied for control of acid emissions.
