Polymer-filler studies
Technical Report

OSTI ID:6343167
This study examined the matrix-filler interactions in model systems consisting of representative polymers with polycrystalline fillers in situations in which the volume content of the latter exceeds 80%. Several techniques were used including methods to study: (1) the disposition and gross morphology of the minor (polymeric) component; (2) wetting of a filler crystal by molten polymer; and (3) theoretical and experimental studies related to optimum loading.
