Through the last few decades, there have been intermittent shifts in demand for end products from produced gas streams. There is a current shift in demand for inert gases normally separated from produced streams and vented into the atmosphere. CO/sub 2/ is one of those previously vented gases with a new demand and higher value. Demand for CO/sub 2/ will grow at an increasing rate in the next several years because of increasing demand in 3 areas: urea production; food grade usage; and enhanced oil recovery. Consumption of CO/sub 2/ in enhanced oil recovery is forecast to undergo a dramatic jump.
