Design standards, procurement specifications, and construction standards have been developed to eliminate the need for many types of repairs, to facilitate quick repairs, and to greatly increase the percentage of time-in-service of cathodic protection (CP) systems. Many years of practical experience show that these measures exceed original expectations, have improved cost effectiveness, and have extended the average service life of CP systems.
