Title: Thermochemistry of solutions of potassium alkyl xanthogenates and rubeanic acid with nitrobenzene and other nitrogen-containing compounds

Journal Article · · J. Appl. Chem. USSR (Engl. Transl.); (United States)

The ability of rubeanic acid and potassium alkyl xanthogenates to form complexes with one another and also with nitrobenzene and other nitrogen-containing compounds was shown calorimetrically. The composition of these complexes was determined, and the stability constants and enthalpies of formation of the complexes were calculated. It was found that the formation of the potassium alkyl xanthogenate-nitrogen-containing compound complex is dependent on the natures of both the xanthogenate and the nitrogen-containing additive; the strength of the complex increases regularly with increase in the basicity of the nitrogen-containing compound.
