In this work two groups of methods were used to model the grain boundary misorientation distribution (GBMD) and the coincidence grain boundary distribution (CGBD) in a random polycrystal. It is shown that calculation misorientation from randomly generated rotational matrices is not equivalent to determining the misorientation of randomly oriented grains forming spatial aggregate. On the contrary, GBMD and CGBD obtained on the basis of methods, in which grain orientation distribution is used, show very good agreement with the distributions determined analytically, particularly in the case of a spatial model of a polycrystal built with Kelvin polyhedra-shaped grains.
