Critics point out several weaknesses in economic models, such as invalid economic theories, high-cost data sets, and poor linkages. The search for new forecasting methods that are agnostic in approach include the time-series methods, such as the univariate method based on single-variable observations and the transfer function (TF) relating two time series. A TF forecast using two impacts (discomfort and dry-bulb temperatures) illustrates the agnostic approach. 16 references, 1 table. (DCK)
