Title: A measurement of sin sup 2. theta. sub W from the forward-backward asymmetry in p p yields Z sup 0 yields e sup + e sup minus interactions at radical s = 1. 8 TeV

An analysis of the forward-backward asymmetry in Z{sup 0} decays using data from the Collider Detector at Fermilab provides a measurement of sin{sup 2}{bar {theta}}{sub W}. The forward-backward asymmetry is measured to be (5.2 {plus minus} 5.9 (stat) {plus minus} 0.4 (sys))%, which implies sin{sup 2}{bar {theta}}{sub W} = 0.228{sub {minus}0.015}{sup +0.017} (stat) {plus minus} 0.002 (sys), after QCD, QED, and weak corrections. When higher order weak corrections are included, the measured value of sin{sup 2}{theta}{sub W} is consistent with previous measurements over a broad range of top quark masses. 59 refs., 58 figs., 9 tabs.
