Numerical experiments concerning transonic and supersonic compressible flow are presently conducted on the basis of quasi-second-order-accurate oscillation-free schemes for the Euler equations. The schemes were constructed through adjunction of an artificial viscosity term, whose coefficient was ascertained on the basis of symmetric TVD theory, to a two-step FEM/finite-volume Richtmyer-Galerkin scheme on arbitrary FEM grids. 71 refs.
