Control system and method for controlling output type hydraulic fluid pump of automatic transmission providing increased pump output pressure with increase in engine load
This patent describes a control method for a hydraulic fluid pump comprised in a hydraulically actuated automatic transmission system for a vehicle driven by an engine. The transmission system has hydraulic means for establishing a speed ratio. The hydraulic means uses hydraulic fluid at a line pressure maintained by the hydraulic fluid pump. The method consists of: detecting the load on the engine; and controlling the hydraulic fluid pump such that an output thereof increases with an increase of the detected value of the load on the engine. In a hydraulically actuated automatic transmission system for a vehicle driven by an engine, the transmission system having hydraulic means for establishing a speed ratio and hydraulic fluid pump means for supplying pressurized hydraulic fluid to the means for establishing at a line pressure, a control system consists of: means for detecting the load on the engine; and means for controlling the hydraulic fluid pump such that an output increases with an increase of the detected value of the load on the engine.
