Oscillating solutions of the Falkner-Skan equation for negative beta

The equations derived by Falkner and Skan (1931) in a search for similarity solutions for the laminar incompressible boundary-layer flow over a flat plane or wedge are investigated analytically. Consideration is given to the case where beta, a parameter measuring the pressure gradient in the stream direction, is less than -1 (including the range of physical interest). The results obtained include both a periodic solution and solutions which tend to a limit after oscillating a finite number of times. 19 references.
