Pulse and microwave characterization of a fiber-optic transmission link
Abstract
Experiments at the Nevada Test Site require high-bandwidth recording systems with wide dynamic range. A 1300-nm fiber-optic transmission link is being investigated for this application. This system performs with a bandwidth of 3 GHz and a dynamic range of 100. To gain a better understanding of the large-signal response of semiconductor laser diodes, an analysis of large-signal vs small-signal response has been conducted using pulse and microwave techniques. 1 ref., 6 figs.
