Results are presented of the Working Group Meeting for Distribution Automation and Control (DAC) on the Electric Power System held on November 20--22, 1978 at Baltimore, Maryland. Its purpose was to bring together some members of the electric utility community so that they might reach a common understanding on: key issues and uncertainties to be resolved; the existing state of the art; and specific requirements for further RD and D in the area of DAC. The meeting consisted of several presentations and working sessions. The statements and recommendations formulated by the group on various topics are presented.
