Title: Certain features of the MHD interaction of a nonequilibrium plasma

Abstract

The nonequilibrium flow of a two-temperature plasma expanding in a disk-shaped channel in a transverse magnetic field is studied. The problem is solved for Re/sub M/<<1 assuming that the circuit for the Hall current is open. The steady-state outflow which occurs when the interaction zone is cut off is studied. The ranges of continuous flow and of flow with a jump in braking are determined. In a nonequilibrium two-temperature flow, the conditions correspond to a stabilization of the position of the jump in braking. Ionization causes two opposing effects in the MHD interaction.
