This document presents conceptual hardware, equipment, and operational procedures for disposing of radioactive waste in horizontally oriented boreholes. These concepts, though preliminary, are adequate to prove the feasibility of horizontal emplacement, to provide a basis for the development of operational procedures, and to develop repository cost estimates. The hardware and equipment presented is based on existing, currently available technology.
