Title: Upper critical field of laminar superconductors with Josephson interaction between layers

Abstract

The influence of paramagnetic and orbital effects on the behavior of the upper critical field parallel to the layers is investigated near the critical temperature in laminar superconductors with Josephson interaction between the layers. Two mechanisms for the suppression of the paramagnetic effect are compared: the spin--orbit interaction of conduction electrons in crystals with a lattice without a center of symmetry, and the spin--orbit interaction of electrons at impurities. It is shown that the identical temperature dependence of the upper critical field parallel to the layers is observed for both mechanisms. The angular dependence of the upper critical field H/sub c/2(theta) near T/sub c/ is also obtained taking account of both the paramagnetic and orbital effects.
